While the first day of summer isn’t technically until June 20th, the heat in the South lately sure doesn’t feel like spring anymore! For most of us, summer always seems to bring on thee urge to go on vacation, but sadly, for those of us who aren’t lucky enough to be students with an entire summer at our disposal, we have to rely on the weekends to fit in as much fun as we can. However, this can be difficult with only two days to so, which is why we’ve wrapped up 5 drivable destinations from Nashville for you to plan your next weekend getaway!

 

Max+Patch

Asheville, NC – Drive Time: 5hrs

This awesome city seriously has something for everyone! Explore the awesome shops and restaurants downtown, go hiking at Max Patch Mountain, or enjoy a little history and visit the Biltmore Estate. This place is sure to give you a pack-filled weekend and cause you to leave a cooler person than when you got there.

Chattanooga, TN – Drive Time: 2 hrs

This one is for our nature lovers! Whether you check out Ruby Falls, hike to Lookout mountain, go whitewater rafting on the Ocoee, or go see the fish at the aquarium (or do it all!), this town will give you a weekend full of adventure!

 

Dollywood

Gatlinburg, TN – Drive Time: 4.5 hrs

While the fun that can be had in Gatlinburg may not be a secret, that doesn’t mean this awesome place shouldn’t be added to your weekend getaway list! Just a few ideas are to check out the amazing shops and attractions on the Gatlinburg strip, visit Dollywood, or experience the insane beauty in Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Jump Off Cliff and Chimney Tops are just two of our favorite spots!)

Memphis, TN – Drive Time: 3 hrs

Learn all about Elvis with a visit to Graceland, listen to smooth jazz or jam to some blues on Beale St, or eat some famous ribs at Rendezvous, you’re sure to leave with a full belly and a new love for classic music after your weekend spent in this rockin’ city. Be sure to make a stop at IKEA before you head for home!

Atlanta, GA – Drive Time: 4hrs

Where do we start with things to do in this city!? It is chop-full of must-sees – The Coca Cola museum, the CNN center, the Georgia Aquarium, Atlanta Braves game, Six Flags, the list could go on and on. While this sweet city may be best to visit during a 3-day weekend just so you can fit everything in, there’s no doubt your standard weekend will be packed with activities and you’ll come home with a full camera roll!
